Over the last seven decades, Weber has become a household name all across North America. Their products are synonymous with quality and reliability. When it comes to grills of any kind, be they gas, electric or charcoal, the manufacturer has at least three models in each category that give the competition a run for their money.

Their renowned Q series underwent a complete redesign, so the model once known as Q320 has become the Q3200. It appears that it managed to keep all of its great features and properties while gaining a few more.

The model doesn’t only look gorgeous, but it is quite fun and efficient as well. The sleek styling is an improvement on the previous model. The sizeable foldable side tables, sturdy cradles, ergonomic side handles, control knobs, and larger grip handles are the changes one can see right out of the box.

But there’s a lot more cooking under the hood. It’s compact but packs two burners. The model is designed to fit in a small yard, but is still large enough to cook an entire roast.

The model bears a lot of similarities to its kin from the Q series. So is it worth the extra buck? Let’s find out.

Why Get It?

This gasser has a lot going for it, but what really sticks out are the two impressive stainless steel burners that deliver a total of 21,700 BTU. They are just what one needs for a smooth cooking experience. Adjusting between the burners for direct or indirect cooking is easy – the control is excellent.

The main cooking area is 393 square in. That translates to about eighteen hamburgers at a time. With the warming rack, the total cooking area is 468 square in.

The Grill-Out handle light at the front of the lid is a really lovely touch indeed. It makes grilling at night safer and more convenient. It casts enough light to illuminate the whole grilling area.

Weber Q-3200 Natural Gas Grill Content

There are also the high-quality porcelain-coated cast-iron cooking grates. They are not only easy to clean but also ensure great heat retention. You can easily start up the grill thanks to the electronic ignition, which is the same as the one on the Q320.

The lid comes with a thermometer so you can keep an eye on the temperature even when the lid is closed. The two foldable side tables are sturdy enough.

They are of great help as you can use them to stack the meat before and after grilling.

The body and lid are cast aluminum. The cast aluminum adds to the retention of heat because of its thickness. The thickness also makes it more resistant to damage and warping. Its cast out of one piece instead of being welded.

Performance

Weber Q-3200 Natural Gas Grill Content smallSlow cooking ribs or chicken, even for hours if need be, won’t be a problem due to the precise temperature control. Turning up the heat will even get you those beautiful spear marks on your steak. The Q3200 excels at building up the heat under the hood.

This model has one significant advantage over the Q1000 and Q2000, and that’s the two burners. They reduce the preheating time significantly compared to those single burner gassers. And that tells us a lot because the preheating time is already quite impressive on the Q1000 and Q2000.

Unlike the other models in the series, the 3200 isn’t as portable due to its size. However, you can still move it around. The size comes with its advantages of course – the gasser uses a 20 lbs tank and comes with a cart, unlike the smaller units.

The cart definitely justifies the price difference. And still, if you were to go with the Q2200 or another smaller model, you’d still have to buy a cart or a table stand. So, which Q model you should go for depends on the level of portability and comfort you want to get.

Perfect for Smaller Spaces

This gasser is ideal for a family of two to four. Bigger gas grills are expensive, so if you don’t plan on throwing big backyard parties, it’s best to save your money and go for a medium model such as this one.

Storing the grill is easy due to its compact size. The side tables neatly fold up, so you can leave the grill in a small garage over the winter and forget all about it until spring comes.

Unlike most gassers, there’s almost no assembly required. All the user has to do is put together the cart and the handle. When the grill arrives at your front door, you’ll be cooking in no time.

Easy to Use

The Q3200 is an excellent choice for first-timers. It’s specifically designed to be easy to navigate and starting it up takes just a push of a button.

The instructions are clear cut and the valve settings are conveniently placed and clearly market.

Testimonials

“This right here is an outstanding grill. The heat output is considerable, always results in great searing. The size isn’t monstrous, so I can store it away easily; it never gets in the way.

It’s not that I am not a fan of huge grills, but since my fiance and I had moved to a condo, our options became quite limited. But I learned to love gas grills, thanks to the Q3200.

Next time I live in a place with a backyard, I will be taking this baby with me.  It’s simple to use, simple to clean, and just big enough for the two of us. I am not a fan of big cookouts, so the size doesn’t bother me.”

- Paul

The grill definitely does deliver on its promises, but it is essential to know what you can get from it before buying it. That being said, it truly is one of the best options for people who prefer smaller grilling sessions.

What to Watch Out For

Limited Cooking Area

The grill lacks the cooking and preparation space compared to other grills. The grill best serves two people. Four is OK as well, but any more than that is pushing it. If you plan on using it for a larger party, you will have to stand behind it the whole time in order to make sure everyone is well fed.

A Word of Advice

Cleanup

Use an ordinary household cleaner such as the Formula 409 to clean the cart and the exterior. After spraying it, wait ten minutes before wiping it down. If there’s some stubborn grease left, finish it off with some of the cleaner on a rag or a sponge.

Before using the grill, line the body with aluminum foil beneath the burners. One sheet of aluminum foil ought to last you five to six cookouts before it gets nasty.

For the grease tray, use an aluminum liner. Make sure to clean up the grease from the liner after each use. With careful use, a single liner can last you a couple of times.

Make sure to brush the grates while they are still hot. Now and then, it would be good to flip them over and scrape off the crud that accumulates. You can even totally remove them and hand wash them with warm soapy water in the kitchen. However, don’t be tempted to put them into a dishwasher.

Verdict

Weber seldom disappoints. The Q3200 is a continuation of their traditionally reliable and high-quality line-up.

It just might be the perfect grill for couples who like spending some alone time in their backyard.  The model comes highly recommended to novices as it is easy to clean, easy to assemble and easy to operate.
